Obituaries

MARLENE CRAIG
Marlene A. Craig, 69, of Tolley, ND died Monday, February 8, 2010 at a nursing home in Mohall.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday February 13 in Evangelical Lutheran Church, Tolley with Rev. Janet Gwin officiating. A family service and visitation was February 12 at 7 p.m. at Brose Funeral Home, Mohall. Burial will be in McKinney Cemetery, rural Tolley in the spring.

Mrs. Craig was born May 14, 1940 in Kenmore, the daughter of Carmie and Gertie (Forness) Nelson. She was a 1958 graduate of Tolley High School. She was employed at Woolworths in Minot and Citizens State Bank in Mohall, later worked at So-Fro Fabrics and Dakota Heritage in Minot, City Drug in Mohall. Marlene was a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, Grover Homemakers Club, Tolley Senior Citizens and the Renville County Old Settlers Association and a 4-H leader. She married Leon Craig on August 26, 1962 in Tolley.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years Leon from Tolley, formerly of Ramsey; daughters, Vanessa Iverson and husband Robert of Tolley and Joy Snyder and husband Don of Fargo; five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.


SCOTT HAWTHORNE
Scott Hawthorne, 47, of Morris died unexpectedly Friday, February 26, 2010 at his father's home in Morris.
Visitation was 5-7 p.m. Monday at U.C. David & Sons Funeral Home, LTD in Morris. Per Scott's wishes, cremation rites were accorded. Private burial will be at a later date.

Mr. Hawthorne was born September 6, 1962 in Joliet, the son of Floyd "Gene" and Helen (Henson)Hawthorne. He was a 1979 graduate of Morris High School, worked as a carpenter and electrician.
He is survived by his father of Morris; daughter, Saige Hawthorne of Springfield; sisters, Joyce Sheperd and Wayne, Kathy Greenback, all of Morris, Pat Stroud and husband Curt of Vandalia and Cheryl Tesdal and husband Tom of Morris.

He was preceded in death by his mother.


HAROLD RHODES
Harold Leon Rhodes, 66, of Modoc, IN, formerly of Ramsey died at 2:23 a.m. Sunday, February 28, 2010 in his home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday (today) in Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, rural Ramsey with Bro. Cecil Eller officiating. Visitation is one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, rural Ramsey. Memorials: Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, Ramsey.

Mr. Rhodes was born March 25, 1943 in Will County, the son of Warner Ezra and Pauline Geneva (Eller) Rhodes. He was a truck driver and had served in the U.S. Airforce.

He is survived by his companion, Andrea Stucker of Modoc, IN; children, Harold E. Rhodes of Bingham, Carla Gilmore of Decatur, Reba Kay Carroll of Kansas City, MO, Judy Rhodes of Kentucky; step-children, Celeste Murphy, Delila Donovan, Charlotte Willis, Theresa Redfern, Charles Stucker; sisters, Ruth Ann Belsha, Louise Eller of Smithboro; brothers, Edwin Rhodes and Jack Rhodes; eleven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
