Coming into the third round of the round robin, Brownstown and Patoka were each 2-0, even as Ramsey and Mulberry Grove were 0-2. Patoka came up with a late inning run to beat Brownstown 6-5. Bombers were left with a 2-1 second place record. Rams and Mulberry Grove likewise dueled down to the final run ending in a 6-6 tie! Each could claim third place but unable to prove it because it was called due to a time limit that ruled all six games. From its off-duty place high above student traffic, the very large netted cage is lowered to the floor for practice. All teams were active on the fields and the cage stored when this photo was taken.

Save the Tower Several persons interested in saving the interlock railroad tower in Ramsey met Thursday, Aug. 26 at Ramsey Village Hall meeting room. An agreement with the Village to exchange property with them was discussed and agreed upon. The tower received a 100’ x 100’ parcel where the caboose is now located. The Village received ownership of lots 37-38 in block 18 which is close to Route 51. We would like to see more interest in saving this historical building. We meet the fourth Thursday of each month, 7 p.m. in the village hall. New people and new ideas are always needed and welcomed
